Electric Games
Electric Games were developed as part of the Powershop ‘Winterrific’ campaign. A collaborative effort from Combo and the Powershop marketing team. We worked with Voyager Interactive in Buenos Aires to deliver three online games on the smell of an oily rag.
I was responsible for copy of all shapes and sizes — concepting and story development, character development, instructions, in-game copy, digi banners and social media promotion.
Everything you read below is writing for the game — the language is inspired by robots and language and slang of the 18th century.
Introducing Electric Games. We’ve reprogrammed cybots, stealing the super minds from the inventors of decades past. They’re robotic contraptions — half-human, half-machine. Help them before disaster ensues.
They’re easy to play and difficult to master. The more you play, the greater your chances to win a $2000 Prezzy Card because for each time you play, you’ll get an entry into the Grand Prize draw.

Light the kite
Benjabot Frankletin needs to harvest all the electricity he can to charge up his kite. Help Benjabot snatch it from the lightning bolts by flying the kite as high as possible.
It’s easy to play but difficult to master. As you go, you’ll gain speed — the faster you go, the higher the kite flies. But watch out, there are obstacles along the way that you’ll need to avoid. Tap to jump and keep ol’ Benjabot out of danger.
-
Power Tower
Nikaloid Nestla is building a tower but he’s short-circuiting and can’t get it right. Help Nestla with his tower by stacking the components on top of each other. The more accurate you are, the higher your points.
Each component of the tower is held by a mechanical arm which will move right to left, getting faster all the time. Tap to release each section and don’t forget to aim for the centre.

Flash and bash
Merzap Currbieboz is radiating. Her wires are crossed and it’s close to causing a toxic calamity. Merzap must flash her x-ray tubes and you’re the only one who can help. Tap the button that corresponds with the x-ray tube that she wants to light up. There’s a timer and each time it’s only going to get shorter. Light up as many tubes as you can to get the points you need. It’s a tough ask, but follow Merzap’s instructions and you’ll be just fine.

You. Smashed. It.
Game one: Staggering result, you’re a real lally-cooler

That. Was. Skilamalink.
Game one: Quit shooting into the brown. Benjabot’s relying on you.
Game two: You’ve disappointed Nikaloid. A chaotic snafu indeed.
Game three: Merzap’s not amused. That was a damned foozle!
